Hi Frnds!!.. Here came the Final Showdown!!.. Sairam A Vs SRM Eswari-The final of the coveted T-20 SaiRam Trophy!!.. Much was expected from both the sides and it was a fitting finale... Sairam A was very much confident of beating SRM Eswari and they planned good strategies for the match... SRM Eswari won the toss and elected to bat first... Pace spearhead Gopi n MP Opened The Innings, They bowled extremely well in their first spell... Gopi scalped the 1st wicket of Balaji who was in ominous form,he was out caught behind... MP held onto an awesome catch of his own bowling and sent Arjun out... In came the captain Vignesh Raja,who was scoring consistently in the tournament... He cracked a boundary of d very 1st ball he faced, His Ominous Form Continued... MP was impressive with figures of 4-0-17-1...Then came Shiva and Haran... They bowled extremely well... They shared 3 wkts between them with Shiva taking an astounding catch In Midoff.. Meanwhile at other end,Vignesh Raja was steadying the ship n scored a stroke-filled 35 before being caught watchfully by GV at the deep In D Bowling Of Shankar.. SRM Eswari then collapsed with very small contributions from the tail... They were all out for 106 in 20 overs... Haran Nd Shankar Finally Landed Up Taking 2 Wickets Each.. Gopi Hit The Top Of The List With 3 Wickets TO His Name.. Shiva N Mp Added A Wicket Each..
Sairam A were very confident of achieving the target... Gowri n Anand were ready for the battle... Unfortunately,Anand was run out in the very first over, Without Facing A Single Ball... Ashwin was also out quickly after scoring 6 runs... The scorecard read 15/2... It was now the duty of the middle order to play responsibly and achieve the target.. In went the out of form Vicky.. Initially he played cautiously while Gowri was smacking the ball all over the ground... He sent a big six sweeping Ram over mid wicket... Meanwhile,vicky was rotating strike and playing sensibly and gaining confidence... They had scored 30 odd runs in 4 overs before Gowri was bowled,he was really tired.. Sathish went in and kept rotating singles along with Vicky.. Runs were flowing at one end steadily and swiftly... They scored 25 runs in 4 overs before sathish was Caught at covers, Playing A Cheap Shot... But,more than half the target was achieved... GV went in and supported Vicky at the other end... Vicky was run out due to bad calling but he scored a fitting 27... 9 more runs were needed for victory and a boundary each from Shankar and GV finished the formalities... Sairam A emerged the champions beating Eswari by 5 wickets.All the trophies n individual mementos were presented by Cheif Guest S.Sharath,former Ranji trophy cricketer.
Anand was awarded with the Man of the Tournament award while Gowri was awarded with the Man of the Final Award... Shankar,Gopi and Ashwin bagged mementos for best bowling,fielding n all round performance Respectively... It was a fitting finish to the tournament as the entire Sairam team is geared up for the zonals coming up in August.All the best guys and Congrats once again...
